March Birth Flower Print - Daffodil
Giclée Print, Hahnemühle German Etching Paper 310gsm, A3 size
Daffodils bring feelings of joy, hope and renewal as they create a sea of trumpeted yellow petals at the start of spring. As well as being the national flower of Wales, they have many nicknames across England-
Trumpets in Yorkshire
Scrambled eggs in Somerset
Nebbits in Norfolk
Daffidowndilly in Buckinghamshire and Cumberland
Julians on the Isle of Wight
Lents in Cornwall
Butter-and-eggs in Devon
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
