I hand painted devoré fabric so that the silk fibres would show one colour and the cotton fibres another, and using 2 different stencils I created these two very different outcomes: one where the design is the small details left over, with most of the cotton burnt out. And the other shows the design in detail, as highlights shining through a rich, dark dyed fabric.
